Guns don't kill people, people kill people...WITH GUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***In the last 10 days America has seen a rash of gun violence that is shocking in its brutality and frequency.
Consider just a few incidents:
In Dallas, 4 are dead after being shot with an assault weapon by an assailant hanging out of a sunroof of a car....
In Philadelphia, 9 were killed in unrelated incidents over this last weekend....
In Atlanta, 4 are dead after a gunman opened fire in a courtroom....
In Chicago, a judge's husband and mother-in-law were brutally gunned down in their own home....
In Wisconsin, 7 were killed by a madman while they attended church services....
In Houston, a 2 year-old was killed by a 4 year-old who found a gun in his mother's purse....
In California, another Columbine was averted when two juveniles were arrested for plotting to shoot up their high school....
And probably most shocking of all, the GAO reports that 47 people on the terrorist watch lists were allowed to purchase guns.
And the list goes on and on.
So instead of looking for solutions to these terrible problems, such as making it illegal for terrorists to buy weapons (including assault weapons!), our fearless leaders in Congress are on the verge of voting to protect reckless gun dealers and make it impossible for victims of gun violence to have their day in court. They do not care about public safety, they are more interested in taking away the legal rights of gun violence victims.
i am wiccan and i still belive in the use of guns if we didnt have them then people would just make the black market boom and our econemy fall the generall citizen would not be protected anymore someone could try to take over our country and kill thousands of people before we could stop them yes thousands are already killed but if this happend there would be thousands more, if your willing to sacrifice there lives then your not an up holder of the laws
I respectfully disagree. I feel that it is my duty as a wiccan to live the law "An ye harm none, do as ye will". If I raise up arms against anyone I will be breaking the law. I don't need to kill someone to defend lives or defend my country. I need to work to bring peace, to change the things that cause people to feel the need to kill. It is within all of us to live in peace, and I need to work with others to bring this about. In the wise words of Albert Einstein, "You can't simultaneously prepare for and prevent war". And to paraphrase Dr. King, hate breeds hate and violence breeds violence, someone must be godly enough to stop. I want that someone to be me.
Working as a paramedic i deal with people getting shot all the time. The #1 thing i hear from the cops is, "The gun used was bought illegally" We can pass gun laws all day long, and we can ban the sell of guns. This will not stop the problem at hand. Criminal will still get guns and so will the terriost. And no this will not make it harder on them, just on the person having to defend themselves from it.
So answer me this, Dark Lord of the Sith, is it better to put MORE guns on the street by arming the civilian population, thereby killing more people, or is it better to do away with guns all together. There is no need for them, they serve no useful purpose aside from killing things. We don't need them to hunt for our food and never did. And if there are NO guns, the bad guys won't have them either.
Gunpowder was just a further example of mankind's hubris in trying to make himself more powerful and important than the rest of the universe rather than taking his rightful place as an equal to the rest of creation. Even the xtian bible says that mankind is supposed to be a caretaker of the planet and those living on it, not is master.

Jedi Medic, I don't hunt for my food, actually. I go to the store and buy my food, none of which is killed with a gun. And I have never advocated doing away with the other implements you've listed.
And as a Wiccan, yes I would rather die than you shoot someone. My soul will reincarnate and I will begin my journey again without the stain of killing someone on it. If you would like to incapacitate him by hitting him on the head with a baseball bat or take out his leg wtih a bow and arrow, I wouldn't be thrilled, but I think I could take a karmic hit for that one to live for my children.
Once again, thanks for playing, but you still haven't proven there's a legitimate need for guns.
