I'm not a Jim Carey fan. I think he's a dufus and maybe one of his movies I like. But this isn't about Jim Carey. It's about intellectual oppression. So the POWFP "Get Over Your Damn Self" Award goes to the Egyptian Government Censors Bureau.

"The name of the movie — 'Bruce Almighty' — indicates that there is someone who can do anything and everything," Thabit said in a statement faxed to The Associated Press. "Such traits belong only to God."

And my personal favorite:

"In June, Egyptian censors banned "The Matrix Reloaded" on religious grounds, saying it challenged the topics of existence and creation. "

So am I to understand then that philosophy in general is banned in Egypt? Thinking is sure as hell taboo, it would seem.

Remind me never to go to Egypt. I really don't need to see the pyramids that badly. DANG!!!

And this could be the look of things to come for the US, people. So keep this in mind when the '04 elections roll around!!!
