Bush and his administration have gone far beyond that in wrecking havoc with lies, causing major damage while putting thousands of lives upon the butcher block, breaking international laws and yet he is still in office WTF?
Lie 1: President Bush and Secretary Powell repeatedly claimed they had evidence that Iraq attempted to buy 500 tons of uranium oxide from Niger.
As early as March 2002, the CIA repeatedly told the White House that this claim was dubious and then the IAEA quickly determined that the documents were obvious forgeries.
Lie 2: The Bush administration claims that the existence of the forgery was not revealed to the White House or senior administration officals.
Vice President Cheney requested that Joseph Wilson, a senior US ambassador investigate this claim and in February 2002 he reported that the documents were forgeries to the State Department and the CIA – which was then forwarded to the Vice President’s office and the National Security Council.
Lie 3: In September 2002, Bush claimed an International Atomic Energy Agency report stated that Iraq was “six months away from developing a [nuclear] weapon.”
No such report exists by the IAEA.
Lie 4: In October 2002, Bush claimed “Iraq possesses ballistic missiles with a likely range of hundreds of miles – far enough to strike Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey and other nations”.
The missiles in question can travel less than 200 miles and could not reach any of the targets cited by Bush and the director of the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence & Research stated that “Iraq posed no imminent threat to either its neighbors or to the United States.”
Lie 5: “Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists, including members of Al Qaeda”
The CIA, FBI and British intelligence have found no link between Al Qaeda and Iraq.
Lie 6: "Iraqi intelligence met with 9-11 hijacker Mohammed Atta in Prague prior to the attacks."
US and Czech officials confirm that there is no evidence of such a meeting. In fact, the evidence places Atta in the US on that day.
Lie 7: In 2000 and 2001 Bush promised that Social Security Funds would remain in a lockbox and that “we can proceed with tax relief without fear of budget deficits even if the economy softens”
Due to Bush’s $1.35 trillion giveaway, a $236 billion budget surplus has been wasted and we face a projected record deficit of $307 billion in 2004. Bush’s 2004 budget will increase the national debt by $2-3 trillion and require that the government use the entire Social Security surplus to fund its deficits.
Lie 8: Bush pledged to increase SEC enforcement in signing the Sarbanes-Oxley corporate reform legislation.
Bush’s FY2003 budget cuts SEC enforcement by $209 million.
Lie 9: Bush claimed to have cooperated with an SEC investigation of his Harken transactions.
Bush quashed evidence that Harken’s lawyers advised Bush and other executives against selling their stock and only provided it to the SEC after it had ended its investigation. Guess it's okay for Martha to get caught but not Dubya.
Lie 10: Bush appeared at a South Dakotan ethanol plant and pledged that he supported ethanol “because not only do I know it’s important for the ag sector of our economy, it’s an important part of making sure we become less reliant on foreign sources of energy.”
Bush’s FY2004 budget eliminates funding for the bioenergy program at the South Dakota Plant..
And that's just a few of the lies that have been told to the American public, not to mention the laws that have already been changed since the start of his administration."
